About Us

We, the Green family, after many years of running, maintaining and supplying thousands of antiques to our community through our antique mall in the small quaint town of Troy Tennessee, faced the decision to close in late 1999 early 2000. The enormous responsibility to the public and vendors and consignment clients was becoming more demanding and we decided to close. Upon closing and relaxing for a bit, we then embarked upon building a small single shop next to our house in our old garden spot. We have always loved the hunting, digging around, barn diving, and probably guilty of a dumpster dive or two in our life time, to bring some of the most unique and precious heirlooms back to life, restoring and reselling them to forever homes. So without the demands of vendors, booths, and consignments, we once again waded off into the world of what we do best with a new shop appropriately named Garden Cottage Antiques in the year of 2004. We work closely with our customers to find those unique pieces they are searching for while at the same time going to local auctions to bring back to our shop nostalgic and beautiful pieces to sell to the public. We have now decided to launch our business on the web in order to bring a piece of the past right into the present and into your homes. We will be listing smaller items from our shop that are much easier to ship, however, we do have many larger items to include furniture that will be sold with a local pickup only due to the cost and labor involved in shipping those larger items. We will be posting before and after shots of our restored and re-purposed items on our website along with other pictures of our shop. If you are looking for a particular item please email us and we can see if it is something that we can acquire for you or it may be that we have it but it is not listed on our page. We invite you into our world of antiques and hope that you will enjoy your online shopping with us. If you are in the area of Troy, Tennessee, we are registered with Google and can be found by searching on your mobile phones. Our area has many more things to offer. We are located minutes from Reelfoot Lake and resort area, minutes from Discovery Park located in Union City, Tennessee, a Safari Park located in Friendship area, Memphis is approximately 2 hours from our small town, Jackson is located 1 hour from our location, Nashville is less than 3 hours away, and a casino in Caruthersville, Mo just across the Mississippi River approximately 35 minute drive. The beautiful Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky Lake, and Lake Barkley is located within 1.5 hours from our small town community. We hope when you are in the area that you will stop in and visit our store. We live next door to the shop so if we aren’t in the store then just knock on the door and we will be happy to let you take a look and shop. God bless you all.

Are you ready to be amazed?

We at Garden Cottage have restored many pieces for resale over the years. We have many unfinished projects and continue to acquire more. We will be posting before and after pictures of the heirlooms that we have completed and sold and ones that are still available for purchase. At this time we are not taking on any outside restoration projects until we get our own completed, however, we will notify our customers if we decide we can take on future projects. In the mean time, enjoy our postings of beautiful items brought back from the past, restored, and ready for a new home.
